Most people choose some type of curtain panels for use in their window treatment designs. There are a lot of different styles to choose from. The type of panel curtain you use can depend on the type of window you need to cover. If you have a side or back door that has windows inset into it, you might want to use sheer curtain panels to cover the window area on the door. The sheers can be colored or white depending on what you want them to match with.

The style known as grommet curtain panels are curtains that come with precut holes at their tops. You place the curtains on a rod by pushing the rod through the precut holes. The grommet style has a very straight edge look to it and works well in a family room or recreation room area. Another unusual style is the tab top curtain panels.

These curtains come with small tabs or folded material parts at the top. These folded areas are what attach to the curtain rod to hang the panels. This style can be quite original in design and can come with matching shades to create a designer look window treatment.

The size of the curtains panels depends on how much you want the curtain to bunch. If you want a particularly bunchy look to your shirred on panels you can purchase an extra wide panel or use several panels on one rod. You can also use the door curtain panels for doors that have full length glass areas such as French doors. The curtains add a touch of elegance to a nicely crafted set of French doors. Using the panels to enhance your window area is a nice way to bring some color into a room.

The sheers allow light into the room while creating a very elegant look to the window. This is a design that is used for formal living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms.

You can also use rod pocket curtains and panels to create a very dramatic effect on a window. These styles often incorporate the use of a valance which adds to the overall enhancement of the draperies. Choosing the right style for your window will provide your room will adequate lighting as making the window view nice to look at.
